Toyota Phaeton AB, 1929 (Tamiya 1/35)26 viewsThis is a 1/35 scale model of the first Toyota! Built in 1929, it was the first Japanese built and produced automobile. It was so successful, the Japanese military took almost all the first run of the soft-topped Phaeton AB for its own use. The finish is Tamiya Khaki and various shades of Alclad metallics.

88mm Flak36 (Tamiya 1/35)26 views15th Panzer Division, Halfaya Pass, Libya, June 15, 1941.

I built this model as the Flak36 variant and it represents German defenses during Operation Battleaxe, which was the second British attempt to retake the Halfaya Pass and relieve Tobruk. Concealed 88mm guns like this one decimated the advancing British tanks, earning it the nickname “Hellfire Pass”.

Tiger 1 (Tamiya 1/35)26 viewsTiger 1, 503 Heavy Panzer Battalion, Russia, Spring 1943

This was my refurbish of a Tiger that had been sitting on my shelf since I built it in high school. It was actually my first 1/35 armor kit. Added the engine and figures from the Tamiya Engine Crew Set. Scratch built the exhaust covers and added a few other small details along with lots of mud. The crewman is from yet another Tamiya set. New paint, new decals, the works. Cleaned up pretty good for a model I competed 30 years ago.
